i like my mom’s rasam the most… its spicy and yummy… rasam is also called saaru which is a soup mainly found in south India. Its very tasteful to eat with rasam, rice and papad (papadam)…
Ingredients for rasam
Tomatoes
Tamarind paste (soak lemon sized tamarind in hot water for 5 mins and then sieve out the concentration)
Rasam powder
Salt
Turmeric powder
chilli powder
Mustard
Red chilli
Method
1. Take a deep bottomed pan and add 3 cups of water. Add about 2 tablespoons of tamarind paste to it. Add a teaspoon of salt, a pinch of turmeric powder , 2 teaspoons of rasam powder, 1 1/2 tsp chilli powder. Dice 2 tomatoes and add it to it. Let it to boil.
2. Take a pan add some oil and add mustard and red chilli to crackle and pour it to the boiled rasam.
This is a simple south indian chicken gravy…This is one of the most tasty non veg item .This is a suitable combination with ghee rice… its yummy… try this.
Ingredients for South Indian Chicken gravy
Chicken – 1 kg
Onion sliced – 5
Tomato sliced – 2
Chillies – 8
Curry leaves – 10
Ginger Garlic paste – 4 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder – 2 tsp
Pepper powder – 1/4 tsp (optional)
Oil
Salt to taste
Grinded masala: Make a paste of 1 cup coconut grainted, cinnamon, cloves
How to make South indian chicken gravy
1. Fry onions, chillies in sufficient amount of oil. 2. When the onions become a golden brown in colour add 2 tbsp of ginger garlic paste to it and fry until its smell vanishes. 3. Add chicken to it and fry for 10 min… water will ooze out from the chicken. 4. After cooking chicken for 10 min add salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, tomato slices, pepper powder(optional). fry it for 10min.. you have to stir it frequently. 5. After that add grinded masala to it and stir and after 5 min add little water also…. cook it for 10 min…. check the salt and chilli add if needed… 6. I am interested to post small dishes which can be made in 10 or 15 mins rather than giving a huge recipe. Today we know that every one is busy.. and these type of dishes will be very helpful.Today i am putting the recipe of a ladies finger dish. Its common in our houses ,making this dish but many may be unaware of its easiness. Today when i went to kitchen after my work i opened each vessel and i didn’t see anything i like. U know obviously we don’t like everything , we like some and some we don’t……. ;-( I am so hungry that time and i searched in kitchen and decided to make this dish.. and i made this with in 10 min and i like its taste very much and i had a nice meal….. 🙂 So i wish i can share this with you……..
Ingredients for ladies finger dish
Ladies finger – 8
Tomato – 1
Onion sliced – 1
Green chilli – 3
Oil
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder(if needed) – 1/4 tsp
Meat masala – 1/4 tsp (optional, i used ,it increases the taste)
Salt to taste
Method
1. Heat oil in the pan, add onion slices and stir, after 1 min add ladies finger again stir it. 2. when it loose its hardness, add chilli slices and tomato and continue stirring. 3. Add salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, meat masala and stir well… 4. Add little water , 1/4 cup of water is enough again stir it once and keep it for sometime until all water is drained. (if u want u can add some more oil now and stir it for 2 min if u like oily dishes) switch off the flame…
Palada pradhaman is a tasty dish. I am sharing with you a common and simple way to make it. It will be easy to make during occasions like birthday, onam, vishu etc…
whenever i have a chance to make payasam i prefer this the most…

Ingredients for palada pradhaman
Ada – 1/4 cup
500 ml of milk – 500 ml
water – 250 ml
sugar according to your need
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Cashew nuts – 1 tbsp chopped
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Raisins – 1tbsp
Method
1. Put ada in boiling water for about 3-4 mins and then drain
and set side first.
2. Add the milk and water to a heavy-bottomed pan and bring
to boil. Add the semi-cooked ada and on low flame stirring
frequently.
3. After sometime, it will reduce to half the quantity. Continue
stirring.
4. Then after sometime you can see ada starting to show on the
surface of the payasam. Then make sure the milk is reduced
to more than half of original quantity and the ada is soft.
5. Add sugar and mix well.
6. Cook for another 3-4 mins and switch off flame. Add the
cashewnut , raisins and cardamom and mix well and set aside.
7. Heat the ghee in a small pan and stir well to combine. And
